A volcano has erupted on Russia’s far eastern Kamchatka Peninsula. The eruption early Tuesday of Shiveluch, one of Kamchatka’s most active volcanoes, spewed clouds of dust 20 kilometers (65,600 feet) into the sky.

Ash from Russian volcano has moved over open waters of the eastern Pacific, but Volcanic Ash Advisories remain in effect as aircraft need to continue to stay away from the ash.

Images of the eruption and the new cone on Klyuchevskaya Sopka was caught by adventurers over two days, the 7th and 8th of March. The height of the cinder cone at its peak has reached almost 60 meters in height, with a base diameter of 101 meters.
