While traveling on the Maruka River we noted a dead Anaconda. Just half of it was visible above the water. The local people thought this was unusual as they are rarely seen dead, and wondered why it died.

Currently their four known species (Eunecteu murinus, Eunecteu notaeus, Eunecteu deschauenseei, and Eunectes beniensis) that are recognized, they are found in the tropics of South America.
