Observation After three years with significant levels of detection, samples collected over the last three months have been clean of PSP. These in samples of marine mussels collected from from Wilson Beach during February, March and April.
LEO Comment Yurok Tribe has been monitoring levels of PSP in shellfish for the past three years. Yurok Environmental Program staff collect samples monthly and they are analyzed at the State Environmental Lab. For more information about our environmental programs see our website
The State of California Department of Public Health also monitors the levels of toxins in shellfish, and provides openings for harvest as appropriate. More information about the status of shellfish openings is available here
