Heavy snows in Sierra Nevada Mountains

This winter is by far the snowiest that I have experienced in Truckee, California, and records from the Central Sierra Snow Lab show that it is the snowiest since record keeping began in 1971. No other year even comes close. Snow totals are roughly double what a median year would have by this day of winter.
