High water after many days of rain

Observation by Lars Flora:

Steady rain for three days impacts Alatna Culture Camp and reminding everyone of the 1994 flood. River levels were high, trees and debris were floating down the river, old village was flooding, water level were nearing the level of river camps, landslides had occurred up river and boat launch was moved to alternative boat launch. At Culture Camp 22 attended due to weather and flooding. Pre-camp expectations were 40-50 people.

The interior saw many days of rain along the Alatna and Koyukuk River. In addition Typhoon Ampil reached into the areas of the headwaters of the Alatna River bringing more water to the area.

-Ram Creek 1.10 inches (upper Alatna, high elevation so total is possibly too low due to strong winds) -Wiseman: 3.20 inches -Bettles: 2.92 inches -Norutuk Lake: 2.89 inches -Kanuti (southeast of Allakaket): 1.17 inches
