1-20-14 Snow then rain - Shaktoolik, Alaska, USA
OBSERVATION: Last week we finally received a huge amount of snow during our snow storm. Unfortunately, it rained yesterday! Making the road conditions very icy. It feels like spring out there, the ice on the river is slowly melting. Climate change would mean less subsistence gathering during the winter months, for example, ice fishing, hand line crabbing, caribou hunting, etc. Jolene Auliye
