Measurement time series: Daily Sea Surface Salinity (SSS) measurements at the Langara Point Lighthouse station have revealed a strongly decreasing trend in salinity since 1936, albeit with variability. It has fluctuated as shown in Figure 1 (from Chandler 2016), but with most positive (saline) anomalies from the long term average salinity occurring before 1980.
