The average temperature in March from 2011-2015 was High of 9 above, Low of -7 below. Average temperature in early March of 2016 has been High of 22 above and Low of 5 above. Warmer temperatures mean the ice will melt faster, and if people aren't informed, they'll travel over the ice not knowing how much it's melted.
