Anchorage is having the warmest October on record with an average temperature of 43 degrees. That will beat the record set in 1936 and residents are remarking on the novelty of having green grass and rain on Halloween.

As we rolled into November, scientists discovered last month was the warmest October on record globally.

Scientists from NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration have declared 2018 the fourth warmest year on record. It ranks behind 2016, 2017 and 2015, respectively. And it's only going to get warmer from here, they predict.

Each state was warmer than average, record precipitation in the East

This July was the warmest ever recorded in Reykjavík. In some other parts of the country, July was among the top three or four ever recorded.

In Reykjavík, Akureyri, and Stykkishólmur, this was the second warmest since record-keeping began. After last year’s unusually cold and rainy spring and summer, locals are enjoying pleasant weather.
