The National Weather Service and the Anchorage OEM will be co-sponsoring a spotter training in Anchorage, AK tomorrow November 28th at the Loussac Library in the Salmon Room at 6PM. A virtual component will also be available via Facebook Live on the National Weather Service Anchorage, Alaska’ s Facebook page.
Everyone is invited. If you are a current weather spotter, firefighter, law enforcement specialist, land management employee, emergency services technician, transportation operator, outdoor recreationalist, or a general weather enthusiast, this training workshop is for you. Training will include information about how to recognize impactful winter weather, how to receive the NWS forecasts, and how to submit weather reports. In addition, participants will receive information about personal preparedness from the Anchorage Office of Emergency Management.
