Very warm conditions for this time of year in Southcentral Alaska
Observation by Mike Brubaker:
The warm storms rolling in from the south have brought lots of wet snow at higher elevations (Turnagain Pass, Alyeska) and rain and melting at lower elevations (Girdwood/Anchorage). Avalanche conditions are high in the Pass and here in Anchorage and warm winds have stripped the ski trails of snow, leaving wet ice. Backroads are also super slick. It is 50 degrees in Anchorage! Very warm I think by any northern winter standard.
