Strange and unusual plant located in Nulato on northwest bank of the Yukon River.
Observation: This plant (1) was noticed in early September and looks rather unusual. Could this potentially be an invasive plant species; if a native species, is it expanding its range or moving to a more suitable niche and/or biome? This plant (2) just looked out of place, the stock of this plant is very thick... It almost looks like a rhubarb but I know it's not. It's the only one we noticed in the area.
Cooperative Extension Service Consult: Gino Graziano, Invasive Plants Instructor writes, "I need more information about where this plant was found growing. Is it in a disturbed site, near a road, in a wetland, old garden, around a home, etc.? Did the plant ever get a flower? Were there others in the area?" University of Alaska Fairbanks (10/11/16)
