On November 9, 2019, the National Weather Service posted a high surf advisory along the coast of Western Alaska, from Wales to the Southern Kuskokwim Delta, covering St. Lawrence Island and the Bering Strait coast. High surf and freezing spray hazard warnings were in effect for Kotzebue Sound and Chukchi Sea coast.
