It was a very warm week of the 25th of January, on my way home it started raining pretty heavy, mind you, no snow, but rain. I was expecting maybe some wet snow, but it was not to be...
Observation: It sure has been a warm winter thus far. It was about 36° F early Monday evening on the 25th of January, during my commute home. I pulled off the road and parked on the north side of George Park's Highway looking up and to the south off of Hyer Road when the video was taken. When viewing the short video, you can see the water trickling on the pavement and hear traffic going by. Near the end of the week the temperatures had risen to a balmy 39° F, that's rather warm for this time of the year here in Southcentral Alaska. Well, for over a decade I've been driving back and forth from the Mat-Su Valley to Anchorage and back. I could recall driving into town just a few years ago with outside temperature hovering around a bone chilling -24° F to -45° F, that would also include the temperature in my car. bbrrrr!!! Now days it almost seems if we are having an extend Fall, skipped winter altogether. Who knows, we might be seeing our version of the four season. M. Tcheripanoff
