Observation: The temperature is warmer than usual for this time of year. The mean temperature (1951-2007) is 21.7. The mean maximum temperature is 32.9 and the mean minimum temperature is 10.6 The highest temperature for April was in 2007, 43.2 degrees F. Unofficially the temperature in Evansville has been reaching as high as 45-47 degrees F this year. Our permafrost is melting faster than usual this year.
