Winter storm grounds birds along the shores of Iliamna Lake.
Observation by Gerald Anelon, Sr.:
The wind storms came in one right after another for the last 4 days. These are photos of the birds that were observed after the 90 mile an hour wind storm that hit the Iliamna Lake and caused some beach erosion and the wave action was 15 feet from the water level. These pictures were taken today but I do not have pictures of the windstorm and the birds grounding themselves on the beach and only one died but the rest are still swimming around. The weather has been very warm here and windy but here is pictures of the lake after the storm. Thank you and the next time I will try to get the pictures as they happen but the wind and wave action on the beach was blowing too hard. The Iliamna Lake has not frozen as of yet and we are getting ready to end the year and the birds are still swimming in the Iliamna Lake which is unusual for this time of the year here in Southwest Alaska.
