Septembers Are Changing in Lower Kalskag

Observation: This year we have had more rain than usual making the roads muddy when it rained and if it ever got sunny, hot and dry out it would make the roads dusty. Our Kuskokwim River is very high this year no problem for boaters. We didn't have much mosquitoes, swallows, new insects observed by others observing. Some trees are leafless. This September cooler than the last two Septembers. The land along the riverbank is eroding from the waves given off by boaters and barges.

LEO says: We have had a lot observations this fall about unusual weather. In fact throughout this year. This observations has been added our project about Unseasonable Weather. Observations were posted in September from both Nome and Seldovia indicating drought and low water conditions.
