Seems like much more open water than normal for this time of year. Animals are enjoying the access, based on canine and moose tracks leading to water.
Consult by Crane Johnson:
The last discharge measurement on Moose Creek was January 19th with river discharge measured above average in the 75th to 90th percentile for that time of year. The increase in winter discharge from groundwater could be contributing to more open areas than usual.
