This is the quietest spring I’ve experienced. It’s not my hearing. The Merlin app is hardly picking any bird songs up.

I’ve lived here for over 30 years. It’s a large 30 acre lakeshore parcel in the woods a mile back from the nearest road. This is the quietest spring I’ve experienced. It’s not my hearing. The Merlin app is hardly picking any bird songs up. Usually there is a symphony of sound that can be deafening in the evening with the frogs. The woods sound like late summer after the birds have fledged and the fall molt has started. It’s very strange.
