Hunters noticed some herring were starting to spawn near Cape Denbigh. The herring scheduled to arrive on May 25th, are over a week early.
OBSERVATION: Herring has arrived early this year! Last night some of the hunters noticed some were starting to spawn near Cape Denbigh. Also a school of herring was spotted near the shoreline close to the village. Usually the sea ice takes awhile to drift out, but this spring, the ice seemed to have melted early. Herring was scheduled for May 25th 2014 but due to the early arrival, i'm not sure what will happen at this moment. Jolene Auliye
