Erica Lujan, Mike Brubaker, and Mike Brook - LEO Staff at ANTHC
Description:
Over the years, LEO members have contributed excellent observations and news articles to the LEO Network. We know that the environment in Alaska is changing quickly, and to better understand that change, we looked back and reviewed the changes that people observed in 2019 compared to 2018.
But we are also looking forward! Thank you all for sharing your thoughts on what the next steps for the LEO Network should be. We heard great suggest webinar time and content, the LEO website, and LEO Observations. If you have any thoughts on how the LEO Network can be more useful you, or if you would like to see a specific topic covered in the LEO webinars, contact Erica Lujan at enlujan@anthc.org.
Recommended LEO Network Webinar topics included:
- Aquatic invasive species
- Changes in animal, bird, and insect species distributions
- Changes to migratory bird patterns
- Sea level rise
- Changes in the abundance of pollinating insects such as honeybees
- Changes to food security
We also gave a demonstration of the NEW LEO APP! The LEO Field Reporter will be available in the Apple app store and Google Play in early 2020!
A recording of the webinar can be found here.
