10-24-13 Warm weather delays subsistence - Shaktoolik, Alaska, USA
OBSERVATION: It has been usually "warm" during October. The geese are finally descending southward. Many community members were surprised their children were still hunting geese during mid October. We also noticed that the ice has not froze on the river yet, which is unusual, because people would be ice fishing for tom cods by now. Jolene Auliye
